As a conference production company we work at conference venues all over the UK chosen by our clients. Due to our relationship with clients, built up over the years, we invariably get asked our opinion about venues our clients are looking at for the first time.
Big is not always best when it comes to finding the right location for your event.
From years of going where we are told it is inevitable that we formed our own opinions about certain locations and of course we are sometimes privy to our clients’ post event thoughts and comments about venues preceding their event.
We are starting this article with a few venues that stand out as being interesting, this could be due to their location, history, facilities, or service they provide.
The venues we mention have always provided us and our clients with a good experience, so what we are hoping to achieve by this article is to make you aware of a few venues that may not be on your radar but could be just what you are looking for if you have an event due to take place in the future.
We thought we would start “interesting venues” in our own backyard here in the West Midlands.
Chateau Impney Hotel Droitwich Spa Worcestershire WR9 0BN

Built in 1875 this was the new home of the famous salt king and philanthropist John Corbett and his wife Anna.
Set in 110 acres of attractive undulating gardens and pasture land this chateau styled hotel has under gone an amazing transformation in the past two to three years.
Located on the A38 approximately one mile from Junction 5 on the M5 motorway the hotel is readily accessible from almost all parts of the UK by car, train and air, the hotel has its own helipad if that is your preferred form of transport.
Almost mothballed for a number of years whilst its future was being decided upon, the dedicated management and staff kept the hotel functioning despite enormous difficulties. But once it was in the hands of its new owners the hotel has become revitalised, restored, refurbished and re-energised to very good effect.
The Chateau has the capacity to host events for up to 800 delegates in its impressive Regent Centre which has further sizeable interconnected function rooms plus a large number of break-out rooms. Vehicular access is available to all the ground floor suites and to the stage area of the very large Broadway Suite, a new modern kitchen has just been added to service any function taking place within the Regent Centre, alongside the building there is a large tarmacked car park with a capacity for 600 vehicles.
Further refurbished function rooms are situated within the hotel itself and in its grounds. With106 beautifully refurbished en suite bedrooms and 9 family apartments this hotel is truly interesting and has a great future.

This venue has established itself as a major player in the events industry since its construction in 1975. A major £23 million investment programme began in 2007 and was completed in 2008. Home of Worcester Warriors Rugby Football Club and situated next to the M5 at Junction 6, Sixways Stadium is impressive. As the oldest motorsport venue in the world still to run events on the original course and in continuous use, Shelsley Walsh is something of a best kept secret. It is older than Indianapolis, Le Mans or Monza. Brooklands has been and gone but Shelsley Walsh is still here, as old as the sport but as modern as today.
