As a conference production company we work at conference venues all over the UK chosen by our clients. Due to our relationship with clients, built up over the years, we invariably get asked our opinion about venues our clients are looking at for the first time.
Big is not always best when it comes to finding the right location for your event.
From years of going where we are told it is inevitable that we formed our own opinions about certain locations and of course we are sometimes privy to our clients’ post event thoughts and comments about venues preceding their event.
We are starting this article with a few venues that stand out as being interesting, this could be due to their location, history, facilities, or service they provide.
The venues we mention have always provided us and our clients with a good experience, so what we are hoping to achieve by this article is to make you aware of a few venues that may not be on your radar but could be just what you are looking for if you have an event due to take place in the future.
We thought we would start “interesting venues” in our own backyard here in the West Midlands.

What Our Clients Say
I have total confidence in Mercian Events, their experience, skill and commitment to running flawless events are clear to all who use them. I have worked with several members of their event team over the past few years and would be reticence to use anyone else to handle my events.

Post event we are feeling very satisfied that we all delivered for the client last week was a slick professional – and inspired conference. The general feedback from our client has been excellent, which is of course what we all aim for. I am also delighted to say that our first experience of working with your company has been a good one, so please pass on our thanks to your team. I hope the feeling was mutual and that our constant pedantic requests weren’t too irritating – if they were – you certainly didn’t show it but rather smiled and help us achieve the standard of detail we so aspire to, so a big thank you for that.

Just wanted to say a very big thank you for the great job over the past few days. Feedback from the bosses was that the setup was very professional and allowed a seamless flow to the days proceedings (which I echo also). So many thanks for making the process pain free for Mat and me and hope to work with you again in the near future.
